MakeOS Code of Conduct

At MakeOS, our culture is built on how we work together to do great work. This is not a set of rules enforced from the outside, it’s a shared standard we hold each other to every day.

Operate with Integrity:

Transparency builds trust.

We are open and honest in how we work with each other, our clients, and our partners.

We share context, align on expectations, and take responsibility for outcomes.

We don’t hide problems. We solve them.

Respect through Directness:

We treat people with respect and we speak to each other directly. That means:

Inclusive by Default:

We believe diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes.

We create an environment where people feel respected, heard, and able to contribute.

Discrimination, harassment, or exclusionary behavior have no place here.

Inclusion is something we actively practice in how we collaborate, communicate, and make decisions.

Communication is a Core Skill:

Strong teams communicate clearly and consistently. We:

Miscommunication slows teams down. Clarity moves us forward.

The Work comes First:

We are here to do great work both for our users and for each other. We:

Empathy and collaboration drive better outcomes, but accountability ensures we deliver.

Take Ownership & Support the Team:

We are better together but only when everyone contributes.

How We Handle Issues:

When something isn’t working, we address it directly and quickly.

  1. Start with the person involved
  2. If needed, involve your manager
  3. Escalate to leadership if it remains unresolved

We don’t rely on side channels or avoid conversations. We trust our team to handle issues with maturity, respect, and urgency.

Use Good Judgement

This code exists to support strong teams and great work.

It should never be used to:

When in doubt, default to:

What helps the team move forward and do better work?

What if you feel someone has acted outside of the Code or you feel unsure of next steps?

Your manager is dedicated to providing support, guidance and help as needed. Please go to your direct manager to discuss potential next steps.
