The world’s best productions — the ones people talk about, share, and remember — are powered by incredible producers. And almost no software. Behind the scenes, it’s still spreadsheets, emails, and duct-taped workflows holding together projects worth millions.
We’re building MakeOS to change that.
MakeOS is the operating system for modern production — a single system that brings together budgets, vendors, approvals, and payments in real time, creating a true source of truth for how production actually runs. When you remove the chaos, producers get their time and headspace back to focus on the craft, the decisions, and the moments that make something great. We’re not here to replace the people who make culture. We exist to make it better.
We’re a small, high-trust, VC-backed team where people take real ownership. We move quickly, stay close to decisions, and keep things simple with no unnecessary layers, no excess process. The bar is high, the feedback is direct, and the work is real. You’ll be working alongside people who care deeply about what they build and how they build it.
At MakeOS, trust is built in the details most people never notice.
Our product moves real money and producers rely on it to do their jobs with confidence. That confidence doesn’t come from features alone, it comes from how the product behaves in the moments that matter.
There’s a story we think about often. A Toyota engineer who spent years perfecting the sound of a car door closing. No matter how you shut it, it made the same solid, reassuring thud. You don’t think about it, but that sound tells you everything is secure.
That’s this role.
You’ll build the systems that ensure our product feels right before it ever reaches a user. Not just that it works, but that it’s reliable, consistent, and trustworthy in every interaction. Your work gives the team the confidence to move fast without breaking what matters.
You’ll work closely with engineers across the stack, contributing to how we validate and how we build. Thinking through edge cases, real-world usage, and the details most people overlook but every user feels.
This is a role for someone who takes pride in getting those details right. Someone who understands that small things, done well, create trust.
The Intangibles (Why this role is different)
This team isn’t for everyone. The people who do well here tend to recognize themselves in a few of these:
You may find this environment challenging if you prefer a lot of structure, consensus-driven decisions, or clearly defined lanes.
MakeOS is an equal opportunity employer and we’re committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace. At the core we are here to make production easier.
We prioritize the few things that matter most.
Focus allows us to move faster, build deeper, and deliver meaningful progress rather than spreading effort across competing priorities.
Great technology is built through disciplined attention to detail.
From architecture to interface, we pursue a standard of craft that makes the product reliable, intuitive, and built to last.
The best products emerge when the people building them take full responsibility for the outcome.
Teams own problems from concept through execution, ensuring alignment between design, engineering, and delivery.
Trust is built through disciplined stewardship of information.
We operate with confidentiality around our product, roadmap, and partners so teams can move quickly and customers can trust our systems.
Technology exists to serve the user.
We design and build with the real workflows, pressures, and decisions of our users in mind, ensuring the product solves meaningful problems in the real world.
